How to Make UI Changes More Interesting

One of my least favourite things to launch? Major UI changes. They always take way longer than expected and lack a great story, other than “new and improved UI!” But I like this example from Slack, who launched their latest version last week with a bunch of UI changes. What I like is how they share the WHY behind the changes. “A redesigned Slack, built for focus” In a pre-launch article they make me care more by framing all of the changes around how it’s going to make users more productive.
