I love this new series from Adobe and Figma called, ‘What If…” Adobe announced their acquisition of Figma over a year ago now, but customers are still wondering what the future might look like. This video series is not showing released products or even necessarily features in the works, but conceptual ideas about what the future might look like. I like this for a couple of reasons: 1. It keeps people excited about the acquisition amidst all of the regulatory pressure. I’m sure this applies inside each company as well. 2. It gives them a way to put ideas out in front of the market and get early feedback. I’m sure this series will not only give them a way to work through their ideas, but also validate them. I know in many situations, people are against selling ideas. But I don’t think this examples falls into the same “smoke and mirrors” bucket. Figma and Adobe are not trying to say these are ready products. Instead they are very up front that this is a potential future, which I think is letting customers behind the curtain.
