Too many startups ship new features based on what they think is important — not their customers. That’s why I love this approach from Basecamp, who promoted a new feature launch by making their customer part of the story. Their demo video is part explainer, part customer story. The fact that their user story is coming straight from the mouth of a real customer gives it 10x more credibility. It also paints Basecamp as a company that actually listens to their users and responds to great product ideas.
