Here’s a great example of a product that needs to win over two different personas. Venmo launched a new Teen Account for ages 13-17. Even though it’s made for teens, Venmo knows that parents call the shots. So their website defaults to a page targeted at parents. It focuses on things like “keeping tabs on spending” and “a simplified experience that allows teens to securely send money.” But, switch to the the teen page and the message is more about “get the card that gets you,” “get cash fast,” and “pick the card color that fits your vibe.” Two very different personas.
